How It Works

GenSolDx.com offers a multitude of disease, coat type and coat color genetic tests for your dog. We recommend that you look up your breed on our convenient breed search tool. Searching specifically for your breed will ensure that you are choosing the right test for your breed.

All orders placed before 3:00 pm EDT are shipped the same day. We are experiencing significant delays with the USPS delivery. We offer Priority and Priority Express shipping if you are in a rush.

Once you receive your kits, simply log in to our Customer Account Manager to register your samples. Collect your dog’s DNA with our noninvasive soft swab from the inside of your dog’s cheek. We have an easy to follow video showing you how.

Once we receive your samples in our lab, you will receive an email from our lab indicating that your samples have arrived. Results are typically available within 24-48 hours.

Your result certificate will be emailed to you upon completion, and is available on your Account Manager.

GenSol Diagnostics is supporting Whisper Ranch, a local rescue, by donating a percentage of our August Bulk Sale proceeds to this amazing non-profit rescue organization.

Whisper Ranch provides rehabilitation and sanctuary to horses (and other animals) that are old and damaged. Whisper Ranch believes that every horse deserves to live its final years feeling safe and loved.

The mission of Whisper Ranch is to rescue, rehabilitate and – when necessary – provide permanent sanctuary to equines that have been abused, neglected, abandoned and/or otherwise mistreated.

Most of the horses rescued by Whisper Ranch can no longer be ridden and are tossed aside or sent to auction/slaughter. Some are just abandoned and left to starve in a field, or worse – locked in a barn, out of sight, out of mind. When Whisper Ranch is contacted, they rush in to help. They rehabilitate those that can be and find forever homes for them. The rest find permanent sanctuary on the ranch.

Gensol now offering Brachycephaly (BR-BMP3)

GenSol is now offering Brachycephaly (BR-BMP3). This is a skull shape trait seen in a number of breeds and is characterized by a shortened head, pushed in face, and typically an underbite with widely spaced shallow orbits. Breeds known to exhibit this trait include Pugs, Boxers, Bulldogs and Boston Terriers. The overall shape and size of a dog’s skull is likely the result of multiple genetic factors with a mutation in the BMP3 gene being one factor contributing to a short muzzle. BMP3 is also suspected to be essential for normal craniofacial development with mutations in this gene likely leading to abnormal craniofacial development. This
mutation is typically fixed or carried in two copies in breeds such as Pug, Pekingese, French Bulldog, Brussels Griffon and Boston Terriers. Additional mutations such as SMOC2 are currently being studied to determine their effect on skull development and brachycephaly. While BR-BMP3 is commonly found in the breeds mentioned above, this is not a breed-specific test and can be performed on any breed to identify the presence of this mutation.
